On the first day, all students take part in a placement test which will determine their language level. The classes are multi-national to encourage constant use of the language.
The teachers are qualified and certified in teaching English to students as a foreign language. At the end of the programme students receive a Certificate of Attendance and an award ceremony is held for the most academically bright students.

The Royal Holloway campus, dominated by the gothic grandeur of the Founder’s Building, is set in 135 acres of parkland and situated 25 miles (40km) from central London. It was founded in 1879 initially as a women-only college. At our Royal Holloway summer school, students get the chance to experience life at one of the UK’s top universities. The campus includes badminton, basketball and table tennis. The accommodation blocks are located very conveniently for access to the canteen. There are also cafe, shops and a 24-hour CCTV system.
London is the capital of Great Britain and the largest city in Europe. With more than 40 universities, London is a leading European and global destination for higher education. Its sights are countless! In a recent survey, the top ten most visited attractions are the British Museum, National Gallery, Natural History Museum, Tate Modern, London Eye, Science Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum, Tower of London, Royal Museums Greenwich and Madame Tussaud's.
Nevertheless, we should not overlook Buckingham Palace, the British Parliament, the wonderful Hyde Park, St. James Park & Regents Park, the various cathedrals dotted around the city, the fabulous theatres invariably staging exceptional performances, the innumerable shops and shopping centres that cater daily to thousands of casual buyers and shopaholics. Then, there are the enticing areas of Covent Garden, Kensington, Notting Hill, Soho, and Mayfair with restaurants, eateries, teashops, coffee bars, open-air flea markets and, of course, the city’s iconic landmark, the inimitable Big Ben.
Accommodation: It offers single en-suite rooms. The flats share a kitchen and a sitting area. The rooms have a desk with a chair and wardrobe with storage space for the students’ personal belongings. Towels and bed linen are provided. The accommodation buildings are equipped with electronic lock while rooms and apartments lock with each student’s key to ensure the highest possible security.
Meal plan: The programme offers three meals daily (breakfast, lunch and dinner) at the University restaurant. It’s self-service. On the day of the full-day excursion breakfast and dinner will be offered at the restaurant and lunch will be provided as packed lunch.
A full and varied programme of sports, cultural and art activities takes place in the campus areas. This is another great opportunity for students to use the English language and also to have fun and get to know their peers from other countries. The social programme is organised by the staff of the organisation and includes sports, team games (quiz nights, disco parties and treasure hunt) and cultural outings so get ready to party & fun!
The programme rounds off with a full-day trip and half-day visits to London and to places such as London Eye, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and British Museum. Due to the campus location, additional visits to the numerous attractions can be arranged on demand
