ENGLISH SUMMER CAMP FOR STUDENTS WITH SPORTS AND TRIPS
St. Edmund’s was established in 1568, which makes it the oldest Catholic public (private) school in England with long standing experience in tutoring international learners. The summer school is integral to the college and encourages high standards of personal advancement, work ethos and team spirit. The first summer course at St. Edmund's College was started in 1996 and according to the British Council is today England’s leading accredited summer school.
It is a multinational course that in summer receives youngsters from 27 nations including native speakers from America and Australia. The campus offers the latest amenities in a magnificent 400 acre country estate in East Hertfordshire, providing a safe, secure and stimulating environment for young minds. It is equidistant from London and Cambridge and about one hour by train from both.
CCTV cameras are in operation on campus.
The county of Hertfordshire neighbours Cambridge, Essex and London. It is mostly countryside with picturesque towns, each with its typical Cathedral and beautifully laid out parks and gardens, making it suitably attractive for hikers and picnickers to savour the greenery of the surroundings.
Hertfordshire’s best-known cities are St Albans, Hertford and Watford where the Warner Brothers studios are, a sprawling complex that has been used for many film productions. A section of the studio complex is open to the public and features the Making of Harry Potter Studio Tour, with costumes and props from the Harry Potter series made in Leavesden, on display. The studio complex is about 4 km north of the town centre and a special shuttle service provides transport from Watford Junction railway station to the studios.
Rooms are twin rooms with shared toilet and shower facilities. Each accommodation block offers a fully –equipped kitchen and sitting area. The rooms have a desk with a chair and wardrobe with storage space for the students’ personal belongings. Towels and bed linen are provided.
The accommodation buildings are equipped with electronic lock while rooms and apartments lock with each student’s key to ensure the highest possible security.
