On the first day, all students take part in a placement test which will determine their language level. The classes are multi-national to encourage constant use of the language.
The teachers are qualified and certified in teaching English to students as a foreign language. At the end of the programme students receive a Certificate of Attendance and an award ceremony is held for the most academically bright students.
The educational programme is accredited and certified by reputable audit institutions of Great Britain.
Located in a quiet residential suburb, the University of East London Docklands Campus is next to the river Thames with views of the iconic London skyline. The residence buildings are modern with single en-suite rooms spread across extensive grounds with an outdoor gym and basketball court for student use. Students can easily access central London to explore all the attractions of the bustling capital city. It includes modern residence buildings with single en-suite rooms, spacious classrooms with projectors, ATM, cafe, restaurant, shops, multi-purpose sports hall outdoor gym and basketball court, astro turf football pitch. Two DLR train stations are located on the campus and take students straight into London in 30 minutes. Student safety is very important and therefore there is staff available 24/7.
London is the capital of Great Britain and the largest city in Europe. With more than 40 universities, London is a leading European and global destination for higher education. Its sights are countless! In a recent survey, the top ten most visited attractions are the British Museum, National Gallery, Natural History Museum, Tate Modern, London Eye, Science Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum, Tower of London, Royal Museums Greenwich and Madame Tussaud's.
Nevertheless, we should not overlook Buckingham Palace, the British Parliament, the wonderful Hyde Park, St. James Park & Regents Park, the various cathedrals dotted around the city, the fabulous theatres invariably staging exceptional performances, the innumerable shops and shopping centres that cater daily to thousands of casual buyers and shopaholics. Then, there are the enticing areas of Covent Garden, Kensington, Notting Hill, Soho, and Mayfair with restaurants, eateries, teashops, coffee bars, open-air flea markets and, of course, the city’s iconic landmark, the inimitable Big Ben.
The accommodation of the students is on the university campus, in apartments of 4-6 rooms with a shared equipped kitchen and living room. The rooms are single ensuite,w ith toilet and shower, and they also have a desk with a chair and a wardrobe with storage space for storing personal belongings.
The university has a 24hr security presence, CCTV and secure access entry systems.
The programme offers three meals daily (breakfast, lunch and dinner) at the University restaurant. It’s self-service. On the day of the full-day excursion breakfast and dinner will be offered at the restaurant and lunch will be provided as packed.
A full and varied programme of sports, cultural and art activities takes place in the campus areas. This is another great opportunity for students to use the English language and also to have fun and get to know their peers from other countries.
The social programme is organised by the staff of the organisation and includes sports, team games (quiz nights, disco parties and treasure hunt) and cultural outings so get ready to party & fun!
The program could not miss visits to London and its' countless sights as well as Oxford, where the students will get familiarised with the British culture and enjoy the beautiful sights that each city has to offer! Thanks to the excellent location of the campus, the program is also suitable for additional visits to the sights of the city and the surrounding areas!
