On the first day, all students take part in a placement test which will determine their language level. The classes are multi-national to encourage constant use of the language.
The teachers are qualified and certified in teaching English to students as a foreign language. At the end of the programme students receive a Certificate of Attendance and an award ceremony is held for the most academically bright students.
The educational programme is accredited and certified by reputable audit institutions of Great Britain.
Askham Bryan College’s York Campus is located in a quiet country area, about 8 kilometers from the lively and historic city! The university was built in 1936 but opened its doors after the Second World War and has a number of beautiful facilities! The beautiful campus offers student residences, classrooms, indoor and outdoor sports facilities, a restaurant, a lecture theatre with large screens with a large screens, a cafeteria and a conference hall! It is worth noting that within the extensive campus there is also a wildlife & conservation park, giving students the opportunity to learn more about the fauna of the area and of course to connect with nature!! The campus is monitored by CCTV system to ensure students safety.
York has been a strategically important city since Roman times! Today, the old city is inside a 4.8 km wall built on Roman foundations. The old town is a mix of many different architectural eras. A maze of alleyways stretch and intertwine, many of which were founded during Viking times. Approximately two hours on the fast intercity train from London will get you there.
Every year York attracts thousands of visitors from around the world, who come to admire its fine monuments, sights and historic buildings.
The accommodation of the students is on the university campus, ιin 3 halls in single ensuite, with toilet and shower. They also have a desk with a chair and a wardrobe with storage space for storing personal belongings.
The university has a 24hr security presence, CCTV and secure access entry systems.
The programme offers three meals daily (breakfast, lunch and dinner) at the University restaurant. It’s self-service. On the day of the full-day excursion breakfast and dinner will be offered at the restaurant and lunch will be provided as packed.
A full and varied programme of sports, cultural and art activities takes place in the campus areas. This is another great opportunity for students to use the English language and also to have fun and get to know their peers from other countries.
The social programme is organised by the staff of the organisation and includes sports, team games (quiz nights, disco parties and treasure hunt) and cultural outings so get ready to party & fun!
The program could not miss visits to York, Liverpool, Manchester, Scarborough and Leeds, where the students will get familiarised with the British culture and enjoy the beautiful sights that each city has to offer! Thanks to the excellent location of the campus, the program is also suitable for additional visits to the sights of the city and the surrounding areas!
