The Global Academic Championship (GAC) is a highly prestigious competition among the best academic teams, carefully selected from specific schools that have themselves been selected to take part in the programme, from around the world. Teams represent their schools, cities and countries in this highly challenging yet exciting academic competition combining it with the experience of British culture.
The competition takes place during Easter and includes, among other things, public debates, presentations and an artistic performance. Designed by education experts from the prestigious University of Oxford. The high level of competition as well as the diverse national participation has made GAC an exceptional and unparalleled institution.
London is the capital of Great Britain and the largest city in Europe. With more than 40 universities, London is a leading European and global destination for higher education. Its sights are countless! In a recent survey, the top ten most visited attractions are the British Museum, National Gallery, Natural History Museum, Tate Modern, London Eye, Science Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum, Tower of London, Royal Museums Greenwich and Madame Tussaud's.
Nevertheless, we should not overlook Buckingham Palace, the British Parliament, the wonderful Hyde Park, St. James Park & Regents Park, the various cathedrals dotted around the city, the fabulous theatres invariably staging exceptional performances, the innumerable shops and shopping centres that cater daily to thousands of casual buyers and shopaholics. Then, there are the enticing areas of Covent Garden, Kensington, Notting Hill, Soho, and Mayfair with restaurants, eateries, teashops, coffee bars, open-air flea markets and, of course, the city’s iconic landmark, the inimitable Big Ben.
Accommodation: In boarding schools. Room type varies depending on the university/college: single or twin or multi-bedded rooms with standard or ensuite facilities. The rooms have a desk with chair and wardrobe with storage space for the students’ personal belongings. There is also a fully-equipped kitchen and a sitting area for students to socialise.
Meal plan: The programme offers three meals daily (breakfast, lunch and dinner) at the University restaurant. It’s self-service.
Student Accommodation is in traditional British Schools/Universities.
A full and varied programme of sports, cultural and art activities takes place in the campus areas. This is another great opportunity for students to use the English language and also to have fun and get to know their peers from other countries. The social programme is organised by the staff of the organisation and includes sports, team games (quiz nights, disco parties and treasure hunt) and cultural outings so get ready to party & fun!
The programme includes visits to destinations like Brighton, Oxford, Cambridge and London.
Due to the campus location, additional visits to the numerous attractions can be arranged on demand.
