There is little doubt that Sachsenhausen is Frankfurt’s most appealing suburb. This is hardly surprising, since it suffered little damage during World War II. It is near the River Main. Did Deutsch-institut Frankfurt is just 15 minutes from the centre.
Learners’ educational needs are addressed in 7 classrooms. The institute offers a self-study area with digital and printed material and a multimedia room with 7 computers. The cafeteria is also a contemporary internet café where you can refresh yourself with cold and hot beverages. WiFi is available throughout the building.
Did Deutsch-Institut is an Authorised Centre for the TestDaF examinations.
Frankfurt is Germany’s financial centre and a multicultural city. It is the seat of the German Stock Exchange (Deutsche Börse AG) and the European Central Bank. It is a city characterised by skyscrapers which, together with 40 museums, two opera houses, the various theatres and the Library, complete the list of the most important sights. Frankfurt International Airport (Flughafen Frankfurt am Main) is one of the world’s major airports and the largest in Germany, with flights to and from a large number of airports in Europe and the world.
Frankfurt‘s main shopping walk is along the Zeil pedestrian street in the city centre. There you will find big and well-known shopping malls such as Kaufhof and Karstadt, but what really dominates is ZeilGalerie, which you should definitely visit in order to admire the view of the city from its roof.
Goethe’s house, the home of that greatest of German poets and writers, attracts visitors from all over. Of special interest is the caricature museum, as are the Chaplin Archives, a permanent exhibition on the life and work of Charlie Chaplin.
Almost all of Frankfurt’s museums are lined along the Sachsenhausen riverbank, with its long sandy beaches, palm trees and beach volley courts, which are set up in summer.
